Love What Survives

The voices on Love What Survives pull Mount Kimbie’s electronic music in different directions. King Krule brings an abrasive edge to ‘Blue Train Lines’; Micachu appears on ‘Marilyn’; Andrea Balency joins ‘You Look Certain (I’m Not So Sure)’. James Blake appears on both ‘We Go Home Together’ and the closing ‘How We Got By’.

Those guests are spread through an eleven-track sequence, with instrumental pieces giving the record space between voices. The result moves between song and texture without settling into one vocalist’s perspective. Warp released it on 8 September 2017, including a double-LP edition in a gatefold sleeve.
