Moral Hygiene

Ministry's Moral Hygiene puts Al Jourgensen's response to public life into a setting of heavy guitars and mechanical rhythms. “Alert Level” and “Good Trouble” connect its political concerns to the record's insistent sound, while the arrangements keep returning to repetition as a source of tension.

A cover of the Stooges' “Search and Destroy” places an older song inside that setting. The change in source material leaves the album's tone intact, connecting a familiar piece of rock music to Ministry's own approach to rhythm, noise and confrontation.
