Into The Blue

Broken Bells brought James Mercer and Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse, back together for Into the Blue. Mercer's voice runs through a studio setting of drums, keyboards and guitar, with the title track opening the record at a measured pace.

“We're Not in Orbit Yet…” and “Saturdays” show different sides of the partnership. The songs can suggest familiar pop forms while their production adds small changes in texture, keeping the album's attention on the space around the melodies as well as the melodies themselves.
