“Blind” leaves a long, tense space before Jonathan Davis breaks through. Korn’s debut makes that tension central: low guitar figures, springy rhythms and a voice that can change character within a phrase.
“Shoots And Ladders” turns familiar nursery rhymes into something uncomfortable, while “Fake” keeps shifting its rhythmic footing. The record is abrasive, but its movement is just as distinctive as its weight. Listening past the opening riff reveals how often the band refuses to stay in one groove.
