Ace Frehley
Kiss
By Maeve C.
Ace Frehley’s album arrived alongside the other three Kiss members’ solo records. Working with Eddie Kramer, he put his guitar and voice at the center, with “Rip It Out” establishing a direct, hard-rock opening.
The Russ Ballard song “New York Groove” gives the record a distinct rhythmic hook. “Fractured Mirror” closes instrumentally, allowing Frehley to build a layered guitar arrangement beyond the shape of a conventional Kiss song.
