Wonderful Wonderful pairs the Killers' large pop-rock gestures with more personal subjects. “The Man” presents an exaggerated picture of confidence, while “Run for Cover” gives the record an immediate rush of movement through its urgent rhythm and bright chorus.

Elsewhere, Brandon Flowers turns towards vulnerability and the responsibilities inside close relationships. The title track opens in a darker, more spacious setting, establishing a different mood from the singles.
