Time 'n' Place

Kero Kero Bonito brought distorted guitars and live drums into the bright electronic pop of Time 'n' Place. Sarah Bonito, Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled let the songs fray at their edges, making the record a noticeable change from the clean, playful surfaces of Bonito Generation.

“Only Acting” breaks apart into noise, while “Time Today” holds onto a gentler melody and an uncertain sense of routine. The contrast suits songs about memory, growing older and places that have changed. Familiar pop shapes remain, but their surroundings keep slipping out of focus.
