Wolf Alice worked with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen on Visions of a Life, following their debut with a record that moves freely between force and restraint. “Yuk Foo” compresses its anger into a short burst, while “Don't Delete the Kisses” gives Ellie Rowsell a very different setting.

The closing title track stretches those changes across a longer arrangement. Rather than holding to one guitar sound, the band lets each song establish its own scale, keeping softer vocals and heavier passages close enough to sharpen their differences.
