Lala Lala expanded the setting around Lillie West's songs on I Want the Door to Open. Produced with Yoni Wolf, the album brings electronic textures and a wider range of collaborators into music that still follows West's voice closely.

“DIVER” introduces that more open approach, and the title suggests movement toward something uncertain. Across the sequence, the arrangements make space for new sounds without making each song feel disconnected, allowing the record to move beyond a fixed guitar-band format while retaining a personal focus.
