Luciferian Towers

Luciferian Towers develops its force through repetition and the gradual meeting of instrumental lines. Godspeed You! Black Emperor leave room for guitars, strings and drums to build together, creating a sense of movement without relying on a singer to explain it.

The extended “Bosses Hang” and “Anthem for No State” sequences provide the main structures around which the shorter pieces sit. Each changes as parts enter, recede and return. The album rewards attention to those changes in density, from exposed phrases to the points where the ensemble gathers into a much larger sound.
