Shore

Robin Pecknold made Shore with recording and production engineer Beatriz Artola, finishing the record during the uncertainty of 2020. Its release at the September equinox suited music that keeps returning to change, memory and gratitude. The arrangements are warm and open, with voices emerging from the instruments rather than towering over them.

“Can I Believe You” gathers its momentum through layered singing, while “Sunblind” addresses musical heroes who are gone. The album's brightness comes with that awareness of loss, which gives its most welcoming moments their depth.
