Live At Pompeii

David Gilmour returned to Pompeii's amphitheatre in 2016, decades after Pink Floyd had performed there for a film without a conventional concert audience. This live album documents the later shows, combining songs from his solo records with music from across Pink Floyd's catalogue.

The set gives sustained guitar notes and gradual changes in volume plenty of space. Familiar pieces arrive alongside newer material, so the performance is more than a return to one period. The playing's patient pace helps those different parts of his career sit together.
