Bohemian Rhapsody (The Original Soundtrack)

Queen

By Maeve C.

Queen’s Live Aid set at Wembley on 13 July 1985 had previously appeared only on video. This soundtrack, produced by Brian May and Roger Taylor, brought five songs from that performance out in audio for the first time, among them “Radio Ga Ga” and “Hammer to Fall”.

Other unreleased recordings fill out the film’s companion, including “Fat Bottomed Girls” from the band’s 1979 Paris shows. Studio recordings such as “Somebody to Love” and “Killer Queen” sit beside them, after an opening 20th Century Fox fanfare.

SourcesHollywood Records press release (5 September 2018): soundtrack "will be released on CD and digital formats on October 19"; Live Aid tracks never released in audio before; previously unreleased "Fat Bottomed Girls" from 1979 Paris; produced by Brian May and Roger Taylor.
Corroborates release by Hollywood Records and Virgin EMI on 19 October 2018 (global); 22 tracks including five Live Aid recordings; US Billboard 200 peak No. 2.
