Traces

Steve Perry returned to solo recording with Traces after a long absence, bringing his voice into songs concerned with love, loss and memory. “No Erasin'” opens the album with a direct return to the melodic rock setting associated with his earlier work.

“No More Cryin'” and “We're Still Here” continue the sequence, while a cover of the Beatles' “I Need You” adds another songwriter's perspective. Across those songs, the arrangements leave Perry's phrasing at the center, giving familiar vocal qualities space within a new set of performances.
